ast year I bought a magnolia. I like the fact that this is a very old plant, ninety–five million years at least. It is older than bees. The tough carpels that hold the stigma up to catch the pollen were designed to withstand the mauling of giant beetles. Dinosaurs nibbled on magnolias.
